What is Cafe of Life?
Café of Life Grant Park Vision Statement:
Grant Park Chiropractor, April Warhola creates an Evolutionary Chiropractic and Vitalistic Life Center that shifts the way society views and participates in their health and healing.
What is Cafe of Life?
The Café of Life in Grant Park is a place that thinks radically different about health. It is about people, life and living. Your health, life and human potential are honored and focused upon at all times.
A Café is a place that will help shift your awareness toward a more vitalistic and holistic way of living. The Café of Life will empower you to take responsibility for your own health. We realize that more and more people are interested in understanding how to take care of themselves and their families, and get more out of life. At the Café we serve these needs with ongoing education and information; our intention is to lead people to their highest possibility.
With chiropractic being the center of the Café, people receive hope and inspiration instead of prognosis and prescription. We use our heads, hearts and hands to release the essence of life (human electricity, chi, prana, life force, light, mental impulse). This is made possible through a precise chiropractic adjustment.
Everyone is invited to sample and enjoy the experiences served at the Café of Life, and you get to choose. Inside and out, this center is about expressing life at it’s fullest! Inside, we offer chiropractic for you and your family, and also offer equine, canine and feline chiropractic care. The healing center has ongoing nutritional support, birthing resources, Thai bodywork, massage, meditation and mental health support. Outside, we use native plants to house and feed bugs, birds and butterflies. The backyard has gardens shared by goats, chickens and bees and is a welcome space to the community during specified hours throughout the week. People who come to the Café may be seeking a greater life expression, a more active life or better health. Whether you feel good, are in pain, ill or affected by a disease, you are welcome. We serve all ages and walks of life from newborns to great- grandparents.
At the Café you will experience a different way of thinking about life, healing and wellness. This is a place where care is provided through an understanding and respect of the power that creates life, understanding that each person is unique and should be cared for in that way. Dr. April invites you to, “Come Thrive With Me!”
Dr. April Warhola
Dr. April grew up in a small town south of Atlanta – Sharpsburg, Georgia and enjoyed a memorable childhood with her mom, dad and two sisters. It is no mere chance that she decided to serve others through the healing power of chiropractic. Her grandfather was a pioneer in the profession and two uncles are in practice today.
Years ago, while doing chiropractic mission work in the Dominican Republic and Brazil, she had the opportunity to share chiropractic adjustments with thousands of people, many of whom were children. It was here that April realized her own inspiration was to create a healing center where people could experience their path to a greater life beginning at birth. Today she is fulfilling her life’s purpose as a chiropractor serving families at the Café of Life in Grant Park, and there is no question that a special place resides in her heart for adjusting the children.
Today Dr. April is known to be an intuitive healer, which shows up in her chiropractic care. As well as adjusting people, she enjoys connecting with animals and earned a further certification in 2015 to adjust large and small animals. Her center in Grant Park brings together many types of practices, all with the idea of integrating wholistic, life-giving services under one roof, and she is grateful to be a part of the Serenbe Community as well. When April is not playing at her office, you can often find her exploring with her dogs, Zara, Augustus and Miss Violet, practicing yoga, gardening or traveling the world.
Dr. April received a bachelor’s degree in biology in 2003 from LaGrange College and moved to Spartanburg, SC to begin her chiropractic studies at Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic. One year into the program, she moved to Marietta, GA and completed her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2007 at Life University. She is pediatric and Webster Certified, as well as a Certified Animal Chiropractor through the IVCA.
Dr. April is a member of Café of Life International and International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She serves as a LifeForce 1000 Doctor and a P.E.A.K Extension Faculty Member at Life University.
Ms. Laura – Chiropractic Advocate
Laura Warhola is the daughter of a Chiropractor who authored several journal articles and two books based up his research technique in chiropractic, sister of two siblings who practice chiropractic in Ohio and Mom to three daughters, all of who pursue a healthy lifestyle, including one who is a chiropractor.
After attending Palmer College to obtain a chiropractic assistant (CA) course certificate, she spent seven years working for her dad before moving to Georgia in 1982. While raising her children with her husband in Sharpsburg, GA, she had fun assisting teachers in the public school system and teaching various aerobics classes. She graduated from Brewton Parker College with a teaching degree after her daughters moved out of the house, received her certification for Thai Bodywork in 2016, and is presently happy and grateful to be managing Cafe of Life!
Kathy Johnson hails from Ohio but has been in the south long enough to have developed a drawl. She graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1984 and began working for a local travel agency in Statesboro where she lived for the next 16 years. During that time, she not only travelled all over the world, but she developed excellent customer service skills and has an innate ability to anticipate people’s needs and react positively to those needs. Two reasons for her success: a genuine love for people and her ability to listen. Kathy moved to Atlanta in 2001 and has worked as a chiropractor’s assistant for the last ten years.
“Many times I see people come to our office with pain or discomfort that they were not able to cure through traditional methods and are trying chiropractic as a last resort. It is very satisfying to me to see those folks come out with a smile on their face having received the relief that they were longing for.”
Kathy lives in Grant Park with her husband Steve, her cat Daisy, and her dog Trixie.
Laura Warhola – Thai Bodywork
Laura’s family has quite a history of healing practitioners, from great grandparents, to uncles, her father, brothers, and now a daughter! So it’s just a natural consequence that she has gone full circle in her own life pursuits. Her early career was that of a chiropractic assistant in her father’s practice. Her professional background includes early childhood education and various modes of exercise instruction. She currently manages the Café of Life Chiropractic Center with her daughter.
A desire to practice massage therapy has always been prevalent in Laura’s heart, and her first Thai Bodywork session sparked an even greater possibility. Thai Bodywork offers diversification from a massage with many similar results. It provides exceptional ease for both the client and the practitioner, while utilizing familiar yoga stretches and just enough compression to release muscle contracture.
Laura desires to share this phenomenal experience with everyone. There is no one who could not benefit from Thai Bodywork!
