Performance Based Care

December 4, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

Many of the top athletes and performers in the world think, train, and use chiropractic care differently. Let’s begin with their thinking.

Top athletes and performers believe that they are capable of accomplishing higher levels of success in business or athletic endeavors and they organize their life around these thoughts. They make eating decisions, training decisions and health care decisions around performing at very high levels rather than around mediocrity. Because they are committed to higher levels of performance, it is easier for them to draw a line in the sand and say no to things that reduce their potential while also saying yes to the things that help them reach their goals. They make these thoughts their lifestyle.

High achievers and performers also train differently than most people. They train for personal bests and record setting performances. They do not study to pass or get a C grade on a test. They get A+ ready through training, study, and whatever else is necessary for them to achieve higher levels.

This high performance training, which is built upon high performance thinking, is what separates high achievers from the pack. Average performers consider the sacrifice that top performers make too much to bear. High performers look at things differently. They believe that performing at less than your best is the unfortunate sacrifice.

When it comes to chiropractic care, the top athletes and performers take their Lifestyle Care to another level with Performance Based Care.

If you look at the Lifestyle Care Continuum, you will notice that, to the right under Lifestyle Care, the dots representing the frequency of visits get closer together. This is Performance Based Care. The goal is to never allow nerve interference to settle into your body for even a day. This type of care fine tunes your nervous system to fire at optimum efficiency at all times, to optimize the fluidity of muscle contractions and joint movements and to improve recovery time during extensive training.

In The 100 Year Lifestyle Workout book, there are numerous stories of professional, Olympic and youth sports champions who, through Performance Based Care, outperformed and outlasted the competition to win their medals and reach their goals.

NFL Super Bowl Champion, Roger Craig, credits regular chiropractic care for his professional athletic success. He believes the principle of Getting his ESS in Shape, Endurance, Strength and Structure, enabled him to reach the level of achievement he desired when he played for the San Francisco ‘49ers and it still keeps him active and performing at high levels today.

One of the top youth soccer coaches in the nation, David Eristavi, understands that the emphasis on the principles of the ESS, including chiropractic care, plays a key role in the health and recovery time of his players. As a former professional player whose team focused on endurance and strength training along with chiropractic care, he knows the importance of these principles to optimize the performance and longevity of his players.

You, too, are capable of higher levels of health and performance. Talk to your 100 Year Lifestyle Licensed Affiliate chiropractor and take your Lifestyle Care to the next level with Performance Based Care.

The 100 Year Old Woman Who Died at 82

December 4, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

This is an interesting story of a 100-year-old woman who died at 82. When she was conceived, just like you, 23 chromosomes from her mother and 23 chromosomes from her father united to make her a unique human being with the innate potential to live an active, healthy, quality life to 100 years of age and beyond.

Unfortunately, she was injured during the birth process. Pulling and twisting on her neck and spine caused a vertebral subluxation, placing pressure on her spinal cord and nerves. Since there was no bruising that was visible on the outside of her body, the injury went unnoticed and the newborn went home from the hospital on time.

Underneath her skin, this injury caused a disruption of the nerve supply between the brain and the body and her internal communication signals became distorted. Her stomach became sensitive to foods, and her first year of life was filled with numerous colds and ear infections that her parents and the pediatrician considered “normal”. She was given multiple doses of antibiotics and her symptoms came and went. Over the course of this first year, her underlying spinal injury caused her bones to develop unevenly, her nerve supply to be compromised, and her innate healing capacity to be altered.

During her toddler years, she fell a lot through playing and exploring her environment. This repetitive trauma caused additional areas in her spine to become imbalanced, causing more pressure on her nerves. While they were not enough to cause her a “backache”, the pressure was enough to cause her body to function abnormally. After all, research shows that nerve root compression can exist without pain and mild pressure can reduce nerve transmission. Deterioration can begin within two weeks.

As a teenager, she began to experience hormonal changes in her body which for unexplainable reasons were causing difficult menstrual cycles and severe acne.

Her caregivers labeled her as anemic since she was prone to overall weakness and dizziness. Her parents didn’t even think about removing the pressure from the spine and restoring the normal nerve supply to her body. Instead, they were scared into giving their child monthly treatments used for birth control. This symptomatic treatment approach seemed to work for a while, but each time she went off the hormones, their daughter’s symptoms became worse. Eventually, in her early 30’s, she suffered several miscarriages, was diagnosed with clinical depression and began taking an anti-depressant. As her symptoms and conditions multiplied, so did her medications. Even more significant, the pressure on the nerves had been there for decades of two weeks.

To make a long story short, what could have been a long healthy life, ended as a shorter, sicker one. This pattern of treating symptoms rather than eliminating the cause continued throughout her lifetime. Her body could never get centered. Her spine and nervous system were never balanced. Rather than thriving and enjoying good health, her body deteriorated over time.

The last decade of her life, she was unable to appreciate her family or travel far from home. Her savings dwindled while the cost of her medications and treatments rose. She spent the last five years dying a painful, deteriorating death in a nursing home instead of experiencing the quality of life that her body’s Innate Potential could have provided.

This woman’s story should not have started or ended like this. An immediate spinal examination after her birth and throughout her lifetime may have contributed to a much different life. How many two weeks will you wait? Whether your destiny is to live to 82 or 100 years and beyond, make them quality years and enjoy good health every day along the way with Chiropractic Lifestyle Care. Regardless of your age, Chiropractic Care will help you keep your spine and nerve system healthy and your body expressing its full potential.

The Healing Power Within You

December 4, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

If you are in pain or suffering from a health problem, then the greatest gift you can receive is to discover and release the healing power within you. This healing power is the same vitalistic energy that grew you from one cell at the moment of conception to over 80 quadrillion cells that are perfectly placed, organized and orchestrated in you as an adult.

Chiropractic works with this innate healing power, your Innate Intelligence, to help you recover quickly from injuries and enjoy the quality lifestyle you deserve throughout your life.

How does this happen?

Your nervous system is the master control system of your body and healing energy flows over this network. With over 45 miles of nerves delivering over 3 million messages per second between your brain and every one of your cells, this pathway between your brain and body must be healthy for you to function properly. This pathway must also be clear for you to heal if you have been injured or you are sick.

Unfortunately, this communication pathway can experience interference. Nerve Interference that occurs in the spine is called a vertebral subluxation. Research out of the University of Colorado has shown that the weight of a dime can reduce nerve transmission.”Only five to ten millimeters of pressure can interfere with the nutrition of a nerve, starving it of nutrients,” reports the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics.”Deterioration can occur within two weeks,” according to Dr. Videman’s research out of Finland.

Lifestyle Interference results from poor health habits such as overeating, poor nutrition, excessive drinking, taking prescription or non-prescription drugs, or sitting too much. Environmental Interference can be caused by toxicity from air, food, water, or chemicals, as well as accidents or natural disasters. All three types of interference can cause pressure in your spine and nervous system and affect your health on every level.

Rather than releasing the healing power within them, too many people treat their symptoms with over the counter and prescription drugs while the underlying cause, the interference, remains in their system and accumulates damage for decades. This has short and long term consequences.

The great thing is that as long as you are alive and breathing, and there is life flowing over your nervous system, this healing power stays within you, just waiting for you to get the interference out of the way. When you do, it goes to work and does its job! With consistency, not only can your body heal to the point where you feel better, your health can stabilize and your body can also regenerate.

How many weeks have you or your loved ones spent where you are waiting, hoping and praying for health problems to go away.

Everyone deserves to be healthy and express their full potential from the time they are born through their last breath of life. This includes you. Release the healing power within you and enjoy the quality of life you want for a lifetime.

– Man Up!
 – Don’t Wait for a Crisis
 – Make the Critical Transition Now

Man Up!
If you are a man and you are reading this newsletter, then I am glad we got your attention. The term “man up” is the expression used by many men that describes taking on challenges, facing fears and accepting responsibility. “Stand strong” implies overcoming adversity and promoting and defending your beliefs. In this context, to ensure that you can “man up” and “stand strong” for a lifetime, it is critical that you make your health a priority.

Don’t Wait for a Crisis
Too many men are crisis motivated only. They wait until their pains or illnesses become debilitating. Rather than manning up and standing strong on their own accord, they do not take action on their health until they hear their family and friends screaming the wake up call, “man down!” Don’t let this happen to you.

A recent report found that 48 percent of women admit that they have to resort to nagging to get their husbands to see a doctor. Research shows that, in general, women live longer healthier lives than men because they are more likely to be proactive about their health and heed the early warning signs before they become major problems.

Too many men suffer from preventable health problems that deteriorate their quality of life as they age, causing them to die sooner and more painfully than necessary. This is completely unnecessary, especially when simple lifestyle and chiropractic adjustments can keep them standing strong.

Men spend tens of billions of dollars treating injuries to their spine that cause back pain and many other health problems that can be related to pressure in the nervous system. These spinal injuries are known as vertebral subluxations. Approximately 185,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer annually. The nerves in the lower back and upper neck supply the prostate gland.

According to the AMA, 8.8 million men suffer with coronary heart disease. The nerve supply to the heart comes from the upper back and the upper neck.

Obesity and being overweight is also a problem. According to government statistics, the number of overweight men is alarming:

• 67.6% of men aged 35-44
• 71.3% of men aged 45-54
• 72.5% of men aged 55-64
• 77.2% of men aged 65-74
• 66.4% of men aged over 75

Being overweight can contribute to herniated disks, heart disease, cancer, diabetes and may other preventable health problems. If you’ll notice from the overweight statistics, the numbers increase to age 75, and then the statistics go down. Why? At this age the severity of their health crisis leaves them no choice. “Take care of yourself now or die” have become their only options.

Make the Critical Transition Now
Now is the time to man up, stand strong and make your health a priority. Chiropractic care is a great place to start because with a healthy spine and nervous system, your entire body can function better.

Our office has a simple home test that you can do to check the alignment and strength of your spine. Or, if you have not had a thorough spinal examination recently, make an appointment today to get checked. Thomas Edison said, “The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” Man up, make your future now, and stand strong for a lifetime.

The Benefits of Lifestyle Care

December 4, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

The benefits of Lifestyle Care are many and well documented. From improving athletic performance, increasing brain function and increasing bone density to strengthening the immune system and preventing deterioration, the results can be dramatic. And as common sense and world renowned chiropractor, Dr. Ernie Landi has stated so eloquently, “If you prevent it, you don’t have to treat it.”

Lifestyle Care is about keeping your spine and nervous system aligned, balanced and functioning to its full potential throughout your lifetime. This allows your brain and your body to communicate efficiently, without interference, so that they can function at their highest level and you can enjoy life to the fullest.

People will frequently ask, “This makes a lot of sense. How often should I come and get my spine and nervous system checked?”

Life Can Be Intense

The answer is quite simple and depends a lot on you. The intensity of your Lifestyle Care will depend on the intensity of your lifestyle as well as the underlying condition of your spine and nervous system. People who live stress free lives and have no underlying deterioration in their spine or nervous system require much less Lifestyle Care.

On the other hand, people with moderate amounts of stress and deterioration require more frequent visits and people who are under severe stress or have a lot of severe deterioration in their spine and nervous system require much more frequent visits to keep their body functioning at high levels of health. You and your chiropractor will determine together the frequency that is best for you based on your personal health condition and goals.

As the intensity of your lifestyle changes from month to month or from year to year you may find that the intensity of your Lifestyle Care also needs to change.

For example, if you have found that an adjustment every two weeks has been ideal for you and you change to a more stressful job with a lot of sitting or a long commute you and your chiropractor may find that one adjustment a week works better.

Chiropractic and Exercise

If you are a casual exerciser and decide to start participating in triathlons, the increased intensity of your training might require you to increase the intensity of your visits to multiple times per week. On the other hand, if your life becomes less stressful, you begin meditating three times a day and your underlying spinal conditions have already been corrected, you may find that your Lifestyle Care frequency may decrease in its intensity.

Lifestyle Care is Not Based on Symptoms

The most important thing for you to understand is that Lifestyle Care is not based on symptoms. Your frequency is not determined by how you feel but instead is determined by whether or not you have a subluxation, a spinal imbalance with nerve pressure, that needs to be adjusted. Since additional research has revealed that nerve compression can exist without pain, waiting until you have symptoms to get checked is not a good idea. Only your chiropractor can determine whether you need an adjustment or not through a chiropractic check-up.

Ask around and you will find that there are millions of people who have been under chiropractic care for decades not just because they have had a problem but because they have experienced the benefits of Lifestyle Care. These people may be some of the healthiest people you meet. Too many people in our society are suffering because they are crisis oriented when it comes to their health. Don’t let this happen to you. It is easier, less expensive and more fun to stay well than it is to have to get well after you become sick or injured. Make Lifestyle Care your top priority.

Emerging Health Care Leadership

December 4, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

A Shortage of Medical Doctors
With the shortage of medical doctors increasing dramatically, more and more people are using chiropractors for their health care leadership. According to the AAMC, the American Academy of Medical Consultants, there is a shortage of medical doctors by 50,000 in the U.S. alone. Between now and 2025 that shortage is expected to grow to 125,000.

These statistics are experienced in the real world as more people are forced to go to Doc in the Box medical establishments where they don’t know the doctor and have not been able to establish a relationship with a provider who knows their body or who knows their family. This has led to many a frustrating experience and is one reason for the shift.

The Public is Demanding Holistic, Drug-Free Health Care
The shift to chiropractors is not just due to the medical doctor shortage however, it is due to a shift in the public’s demand for a holistic, drug-free health care approach. Traditional medical care is strictly for use when you are in the middle of a severe crisis. This can be from an accident, injury, or being diagnosed with an illness or disease. This Crisis Care is important. It is necessary. And at the same time, individuals and families are looking for ways to stay healthy and drug free to avoid and prevent a crisis from occurring, while many others are looking to optimize their health.

Chiropractic care, especially within The 100 Year Lifestyle model, contributes to restoring your health in times of crisis, and it can also help you make the Critical Transition from Crisis Care to Lifestyle Care so that your health becomes your top priority. Health care consumers are realizing, through the rising costs of crisis care and the suffering of their aging parents and grandparents, that ignoring health until it breaks down is the recipe for deteriorating health, sickness and a pain-filled life. This consciousness has bankrupted so many families over the past few decades that the shift to Lifestyle Care is approaching critical mass.

The Nursing Home Generation
Assisted living centers and nursing homes are popping up everywhere as people are living longer whether they like it or not. This Nursing Home Generation is giving us the advance notice that we will probably live longer than we ever thought. The philosophy of this generation was “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” and they defined broke as severe pain or life threatening illness. There was no proactive approach to staying healthy; just a reactive approach to dealing with pain and sickness.

A Vitalistic Health Care Model
The vitalistic philosophy that we are talking about provides you with a new approach to your health care. We are not inanimate objects. We are vitalistic beings. Your body, which is composed of approximately 80 quadrillion cells, will work in harmony to keep you healthy, adapt you to your environment, digest your food and even heal you when you are sick as long as it is kept healthy and functioning without interference.

In a vitalistic model, when you are out of balance you are “broke.”

Through the principles and practices of The 100 Year Lifestyle, which includes chiropractic Lifestyle Care, you and your loved ones will enjoy a healthier, more active life. Find out if your body is functioning up to its potential. Make an appointment today.
